I grew up in the city of White Rock B.C. right next to the ocean and surrounded by parks. My mom had an art studio on Marine Drive where she taught and sold art. After school my sister and I would participate in whichever art class the women were doing that day. From a very young age I was exposed to the world of art and took classes in painting, pottery and drawing. When I was nine my dad gave me my first camera: a plastic toy from McDonalds and I took it everywhere. It wasn't until high school photography class that I wanted to do more than record memories. Photography remained a hobby for me throughout my years at University where I studied mainly psychology and biology but it was only recently that I decided to pursue it further. Over the past few years I have been taking my hobby more seriously and working to raise it to the next level.
